WHAT IS BATTLE FOR THE BOX?
Battle for the Box is about Endometriosis and reproductive treatment awareness. Talking about reproductive issues, like Endometriosis, can be complex and uncomfortable. People wince at the word vagina for goodness sake! And we couldn’t find a good rhyme for vagina.
The term “box” encompasses the female reproductive system. Is it typically pejorative and sexist? Sure. But what isn’t these days? You can accept our intention of promoting awareness of reproductive issues, or get hung up on the slang. You choose.
Ovaries? In the box. Uterus? Yep, that’s a box within the box. Labia? Indeed! That’s the wrapping paper. So, for the sake of brevity, we call the whole system and associated parts “box.”
